Went to help @dandyrangeslitfest prepare the Book Boxes this morning.
These are little “free street libraries” containing books that people can pick up and drop off, swapping their old favourites with new, exciting reading adventures.
For the upcoming 2026 Dandenong Ranges Literary Festival on October 9, 10 & 11, these book boxes will be placed in front of participating shops and businesses, all along the Belgrave Main Street. Some early examples include @belgravebookbarn, @cameocinemas, @theblacksmithbakery, @littlehendrixcafe, and @grumblinggoose.
And, talking about the Book Barn, they are now displaying ALL the books by ALL the authors attending the Literary Festival. What a wonderful collection, making it so convenient to just purchase a book or ten and get them signed by the authors themselves!
Also saw these excellent “reading socks”. The one saying “In My Romantasy Era” is absolutely adorable.
