Reading the article “The beauty of imperfection in the AI age” via Moo, the custom online business printing and design company. I once had a batch of business cards made by them, with one side highlighting “The Power of Words”, something that I have always believed in.
By the end of the work week I feel completely stuffed. There is not much energy left, so the last thing to do today will be reading in bed. The article says our world is increasingly obsessed with things that are “super-polished and hyper-efficient”, with everything around us becoming “sleeker and more predictable”. In spite of this – or precisely because of this – “the pull towards the raw and the real is growing”. At this tired moment, I can definitely feel it.
So here is something “raw and real” that I found while taking a break from reading and writing. These dainty little beauties are surviving among the relentless weeds, far from the ideal growing environment – which makes them particularly precious, I think. Are humans really drawn to imperfection? And do flaws truly build trust, as the article claims? Perhaps we merely cherish what little perfection we can find when we are too exhausted to pursue it in earnest.
