Last day of Warm Winter Read, so I have been reading for pleasure and writing about it, continuously, for 92 days. A heartfelt “thank you” to those wonderful people who have been reading my social media posts. I hope I have conveyed, to some degree, the joy I have felt from reading not just print and digital books but also meaningful content produced by other creators online.
“Define ‘meaningful’,” some may question. To me, it means content that is both entertaining and informative, which inspires me to seek and understand more about life. It means content that people have created with purpose through honest, hard work, about something that they have learned or discovered that they genuinely want to share in order to benefit others in an artistic way, intellectually, emotionally and/or psychologically, be it audio and/or visually or in writing.
In conclusion, I would like to share this article by Alex McClintock (@axmcc) via @abcnews_au in 2019, titled “Social media could help you read more. Find out how” (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-06-30/how-social-media-can-help-us-read-more-books/11240398). It is this sentence that gets me: “Social media readers are just people who find fulfilment in books and want to share that passion.”
