Watching “The Silence of the Lambs” (Belated Posting “Warm Winter Read” Day 84)

Watched The Silence of the Lambs on TV and felt annoyed the movie is not in my DVD collection. Even though I have seen it countless times, the 1991 film is still thrilling to me.

I have a “thing” about movies adapted from books. I would seek out such a movie, then I would want to read the book as a comparison, just to see whether the movie is “true” to the book. And if I don’t have the book, then I will definitely try to get it, most likely as a secondhand copy.

And, of course, I am a fan of Thomas Harris and Dr Hannibal Lecter. I once wrote an article about the three books I would bring if I had to abandon my house and flee from natural disasters such as floods or bush fire. Back then, my choice of three books for essential survival had been The Stand (1978) by Stephen King, Hannibal (1999) by Thomas Harris, and The Thorn Birds (1977) by Colleen McCullough. Would I still choose these three books if I had to re-write the article today?
